Dahlias are tuberous perennial plants, native to the southern hemisphere. They bloom in the summer an enjoy direct sunlight. There are about 40 different species and thousands of cultivated hybrid varieties. Named after the Swedish Botanist Anders Dahl, these flowers range in color from deep purple, almost black to peach, white, pink, even yellow.
